Hannah Overton: "Defense says Overton prosecutor hid evidence." Prosecution's scientific evidence challenged; San Antonio Express;

STORY: "Defence says Overton prosecutor hid evidence," by reporter John MacCormack, published in the San Antonio Express on April 25, 2012.

GIST: "Eastwood, who didn't want to testify, is accused by defense lawyers of hiding crucial exculpatory evidence from them during the 2007 trial and also engaging in other misconduct. These are among the grounds cited in an appeal by Overton to the Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas. The scientific evidence at her trial is also being called into question. Overton, 35, is serving a life sentence without a chance of parole for allegedly murdering her 4-year-old foster child, Andrew Burd, with a fatal dose of salt in 2006. She is asking to be freed or granted a new trial.........The defense believes Burd, who had an eating disorder, accidentally consumed the salt himself."
