STORY: "Juror dismissed in Aubrey Levin trial," by reporter Daryl Slade, published in the Calgary  Herald on January 14, 2013.

GIST:  "Nearly four months into the sex assault trial of former forensic psychiatrist Dr. Aubrey Levin, the sitting judge has dismissed one of the five women jurors. Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Donna Shelley addressed the jury Monday after three hours of discussions with counsel. “You will note that one of your members is not present in the jury box,” Shelley told the remaining seven men and four women. “The reason for that is that an event has occurred in relation to juror No. 3 that prevents her from continuing on this jury trial. As a result, she has been discharged from the jury and we will be continuing on with the 11 of you.........Levin, who faces 10 counts of sexually abusing nine patients, most of them under court-ordered care, did not show any emotion during the judge’s announcement to the jury."
