Curtis Lovelace: Bulletin: The former prosecutor's second murder trial has been moved to another county sue to the amount of pre-trial news coverage..."He is accused of murdering his first wife, Cory Lovelace, on Valentine's Day in 2006, whose cause of death was initially undetermined. His first trial ended in a mistrial in February after jurors couldn't reach a unanimous decision. The pathologist who failed to pinpoint why Cory Lovelace died in 2006 is the same one who has had her work discredited in other death investigations, including one involving a 2-year-old boy in Sangamon County. Jessica Bowman’s ruling of the cause of Lovelace’s death as inconclusive left the case open until Curtis Lovelace was charged in August 2014 with killing her. Authorities say Bowman missed what they now consider glaring evidence that Cory Lovelace — a 38-year-old mother of four — died from foul play. A coroner’s jury reached the same conclusion as Bowman’s, and Cory Lovelace’s body was cremated. But two other pathologists who reviewed the case file at the request of police in 2014 found that Cory Lovelace had been suffocated and did not die of flu-like symptoms as investigators say Curtis Lovelace initially insisted."
