GIST: "Lacey Spears' lawyers used cellphone records introduced by prosecutors to try to portray her as a loving mother who researched why her 5-year-old son Garnett might be sick and was so despondent over his death she contemplated suicide. Westchester County police Detective Jose Calero, who conducted a forensic analysis of the phone, testified for the prosecution Thursday that Spears Googled "dangers of high sodium" and "hypernatremia" nine days before her son died of salt poisoning. But defense lawyer David Sachs noted Spears made other queries in the days before Garnett's death including causes of high magnesium, whether pinworms — an intestinal parasite — can cause seizures and how to "vent" a gastrointestinal feeding tube. He referred to a slew of texts in which Spears claimed she cared deeply for her son. "I love him!!!" Spears wrote in a Jan. 25, 2014, text, two days after Garnett's salt poisoning death at Westchester Medical Center. "He's my entire world, my soul!!!!! I lived for him!!!" Sachs also discussed numerous online searches about committing suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills or self-injecting insulin that were made after Garnett died."
