March 20 was a significant day in the life of the Goudge Inquiry.
It was the date by which lawyers appearing before the Inquiry had to file their written closing submissions on behalf of their respective clients.
As a reporter, I have always regarded closing submissions as potential gold-mines in which the lawyers have the opportunity to put their best foot forward - and to fire away at the arguments made by other counsel.
The Commission plans to post the submissions on-line in the next few days - and lawyers have one week in which to respond to representations made by their counter-parts.
These closing arguments will undoubtedly provide some meaty grist for the Charles Smith Blog mill.
Stay tuned!
