GIST:  "Mark Lundy will seek bail on Friday, four days after his convictions for murdering his wife and daughter in 2000 were quashed. The High Court in Wellington has confirmed a bail application has been lodged and that it will be heard on Friday afternoon. A High Court spokeswoman said the case would be argued by lawyers and Lundy would not be appearing in person. Lundy's 2002 convictions for murdering his wife Christine and his seven-year-old daughter Amber in Palmerston North in 2000 were quashed on Monday by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London."

See also updated 3 News story in which an Auckland criminal lawyer predicts Mark Lundy will be granted bail; "A criminal lawyer believes Mark Lundy will probably get bail, because he has no previous convictions and doesn't appear to be a threat to the community. That's according to Auckland barrister Gary Gotlieb, as lawyers for the man accused of killing his wife and daughter in 2000 prepare a bail application for the High Court at Wellington tomorrow.  Mr Gotlieb says given police have already assessed a bail address, there are many factors in his favour."
