"A trial date is set and medical experts are lined up to review prenatal and birth records related to a 2010 child abuse case — one that is getting widespread attention. Among the experts on the witness list is a physician from the University of Pennsylvania. Doctors at the time said the toddler suffered injuries consistent with “shaken-baby syndrome” as well as blunt-force trauma. On Thursday, Circuit Judge Dennis Craig granted the defense's motion to release “every medical record that the child has and the birth records and maternity records from the mother.” If any document requires a court order, one would be issued without hesitation, Craig said. Assistant State Attorney Richard Price said the mother, who now lives in Wisconsin, has no objection to releasing all the necessary records. She is eager to have the trial go forward, he said. The trial was tentatively scheduled for March 3. If it needs to be pushed back, it will take place the week of March 17, said Craig. Lambert described the case as “unusual.” The boy had no marks on him that would be consistent with blunt-force trauma, he said."
