(TOTALLY ABSURD) QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Julius Jones had his day in court numerous times,” Hunter said.
Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter:

(PS: Mr. Attorney General: Thanks for the legal brief disguised a bombshell evidence - and for using your valuable time to total all the hours Mr. Jones spent in courtrooms - instead of agonising over the possibility that you may be executing an innocent man.

PASSAGE OF THE DAY: "Jones’ mother, Madeline Davis-Jones responded to Hunter, saying her son had nothing to do with Howell’s death. “I know Julius is innocent because my husband and I were with him that night Mr. Howell was murdered,” she said. “My son Julius is not guilty of Mr. Howell’s murder, and his conviction and death sentence are a terrible mis-character of justice." Advocates for the Jones family said he never got a fair trial or a chance to tell his side of the story. “We know and refuse to let Oklahoma go forward with killing an innocent man,” said Nicole McAfee, with the ACLU of Oklahoma."

GIST: "Despite worldwide support for death row inmate Julius Jones, Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter said there’s overwhelming evidence that Jones is guilty of murdering Edmond businessman Paul Howell in 1999.
Jones has maintained his innocence since the conviction.
“I’m here in an effort to make sure the public has the whole story, not just stuff that’s convenient to fit a narrative,” Hunter said.
“I’m here in an effort to make sure the public has the whole story, not just stuff that’s convenient to fit a narrative,” Hunter said.
During a news conference Monday, Hunter said he wanted to set the record straight after meeting with Howell’s family.
“Julius Jones murdered Paul Howell in cold blood in front of his sister and daughters,” Hunter said. “No celebrity imploration or profusion of misinformation will change that.”
Hunter also released documents that he said refute claims of Jones’ innocence. You can read those documents here.
