NEWS FLASH: SMITH ALLOWS ONTARIO REGISTRATION TO EXPIRE:

You heard it first on the Charles Smith Blog;

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario says Charles Randal Smith has allowed his membership to expire.

The College reports under "current registration" on its Web-site that Smith's status is "none."

The site notes that he "failed to renew membership" ..."effective August 9, 2008;

Smith had previously retained his membership in the College on his undertaking not to carry on a forensic pathology practice.

This raises the question whether -which I doubt - the College can launch discipline proceedings against Smith as he is no longer a member;

The Charles Smith Blog contacted the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan to determine if he was registered there.

"He is not registered" I was told. "He is on our inactive list."

Smith had previously pleaded guilty before the College to misleading the College as to investigations he had faced in Ontario.
