GIST: "The man convicted of killing Gregory Harris of Davenport in 2003 has lost his appeal for post-conviction relief. A Scott County jury found Chad Enderle of Silvis guilty of first-degree murder for bludgeoning the 45-year-old Harris to death in his home.........In his appeal, Enderle requested a new trial citing new reports that question the validity of fingerprint evidence. He specifically referred to a 2009 report by the National Research Council that identified several areas of forensic science in need of improvement, including fingerprint analysis. The appeals court stated that the 2009 report is not "newly-discovered evidence" entitling him to a new trial, and his appeal was denied.

Scott County Attorney Mike Walton said Wednesday that he was pleased with the Iowa Court of Appeals ruling."
