After seven-and-a-half days of deliberations, jurors have not yet
reached a verdict in a notorious 1979 missing boy case and will return
to a Manhattan court Monday. Jurors requested hours of testimony read back to them, all
exhibits and paper to make lists in the murder trial of Pedro Hernandez.
On Friday, jurors heard the testimony of a former federal prosecutor
who investigated another longtime suspect. Six-year-old Etan Patz disappeared on his way to school on May
25, 1979. His body was never found. Hernandez confessed to killing the
boy in the basement of a corner store after luring him there with the
promise of a soda. His lawyer says the confession is fiction.
