Corey Johnson: RIP: After re-activating federal executions to boost Trump's 'law and order' image (not that it helped him get re-elected), President Donald Trump and his former Attorney General William Barr get yet another body - the body of a man whose life had been burdened by a severe intellectual disability, and who had been diagnosed with Covid-19. Shame on them. HL. CNN reports that Corey Johnson was executed Thursday evening at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute Indiana after a prolonged legal fight...Reporters Paul LeBlanc and Christina Carrega..."The Supreme Court denied a last-ditch effort late Thursday by Johnson's legal team that leaned on claims of an intellectual disability and his Covid-19 diagnosis, arguing that his infection paired with a lethal injection would amount to a cruel and unusual punishment."
