"The
surviving victim in a fatal stabbing at Cornell University last August
took the stand and the jury viewed police footage of the incident's
aftermath Tuesday in the murder trial of Nagee Green.
Green, 23, of Freeville, is accused of fatally stabbing 19-year-old Ithaca College student Anthony Nazaire to death following a party on Cornell's campus in the early hours on Aug. 28. Williams, who will be a junior in the fall, took the stand Tuesday morning in Tompkins County Court and said Nazaire “was like a brother to me” since they met freshman year. Williams then described the chaotic events of the night of the stabbing.........It was the first day for the prosecution to present its case following the conclusion of jury selection and opening statements Monday. Williams was the third witness of the day, following two first responders who painted the scene of what happened and where. Cooper Klein, a friend of Nazaire and Williams who graduated from Ithaca College in May, was the fourth witness to testify. He was involved in a fight during the altercation after the party but did not see either Nazaire or Williams get stabbed......... The trial will pick up Wednesday morning with the cross-examination of Klein.
