STORY: Robert Dewey: Innocence Project announces his DNA-related exoneration of a 1984 rape and murder - after nearly 18 years behind bars.

GIST: "Just minutes ago, Robert Dewey was exonerated of a 1994 rape and murder in Mesa County, Colorado. Advances in DNA technology since the crime made it possible to prove Mr. Dewey’s innocence while implicating another man, who is already serving a life sentence for a similar crime. Robert walked out of court today a free man after spending nearly 18 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.........Robert Dewey is the 290th person exonerated by DNA testing. But we know there are many others still waiting for justice."
