STORY: "Anderson hearing delayed until November 8," published by KXAN on September 25, 2013.
GIST: "The hearing scheduled for next week in former state District Judge Ken Anderson's battle with the State Bar was postponed until Nov. 8, a spokeswoman for the organization said Wednesday.
Anderson, who resigned from his post Tuesday amid accusations that he withheld key evidence in the 1987 trial of Michael Morton, faces being disbarred. He is also facing criminal charges stemming from his role as Williamson County district attorney during the prosecution of Morton in the killing of his wife. "The Commission continues to work toward a final resolution in this matter that will protect the interests of the public and the Bar and is confident that such a resolution will be reached," said State Bar spokeswoman Claire Mock......... Morton spent 25 years locked up in the death of his wife, Christine. He insisted he was innocent throughout his incarceration. A bandana found near the Morton home in Williamson County finally was tested for DNA evidence over the objection of prosecutors pointing to another suspect. That suspect, Mark Alan Norwood, has since been indicted on a capital murder charge in the killing. Norwood is also indicted in a second killing from the 1980s. Debra Baker was killed Jan. 13, 1988, well after Michael Morton had been falsely convicted."
