STORY: "Forensic expert grilled by prosecution in Camm murder case," by reporter Charlie White, published by the Courier-Journal on September 27, 2013.
GIST: "Special Prosecutor Stan Levco grilled forensic expert Barie Goetz on Friday about his conclusion that blood stains found on David Camm’s clothes were more likely caused by brushing against his slain daughter than spatter from her being shot. Goetz said he misunderstood the word “deliberately” when Levco asked him Thursday whether he deliberately or inadvertently left a backpack out of a re-enactment video of possible blood transferrance. Crime-scene photos show the backpack near Jill Camm in the backseat of her mother’s Ford Bronco. “I thought deliberately was the closest to didn’t think of it,” Goetz said Friday, adding he didn’t intentionally leave out the backpack. The prosecution has built its case largely on expert testimony that spatter stains of Jill’s blood found on Camm’s shirt show he was nearby when the 5-year-old was shot in the family’s Georgetown garage along with her brother Brad, 7, and their mother, Kim Camm, 35. Levco also hammered Goetz for not shooting video of the blood-transfer experiments he performed in the workshop next to his Pennsylvania home, nor did he show in the video how the blood transfer got there when the actor playing David Camm brushed against the actor playing Jill Camm."
