GIST: "A Plea for Justice: Why Texas Will Be Executing an Innocent Man” is an ongoing, multi-part documentary series that examines the facts and evidence in the capital murder case against Rodney Reed for which he currently faces an execution date of November 20th (2019) in the state of Texas.
The series is intended to highlight the evidence that illustrates that Reed is actually innocent of the crime in hopes that this pending, wrongful execution can be avoided. Part 3: "A Serial Violent Offender" takes a factual look at the pattern of violent criminal behavior by the other main suspect in the Stacey Stites' murder case - the victim's live-in boyfriend, and former Giddings and Georgetown police officer Jimmy Fennell. A detailed look at police records, witness statements and court records reveal that over the course of a decade - both before and after Stites' murder - Fennell stalked, and beat and raped women, until he was finally arrested and convicted, in 2008, of raping a woman he had taken into custody while on duty as a police officer."
