COUNTDOWN: 1 day to go to the very first Wrongful Conviction Day: (Thursday October 2, 2014);
STORY: Ohio Innocence Project signs up for Wrongful Conviction Day: Statement by Mark Godsey, Director, Rosenthal Institute for Justice/Ohio Innocence Project.
STATEMENT: "The
Innocence Movement, in recent years, has begun to galvanize into an
international human rights movement. Organized and sophisticated
innocence work is underway on every inhabited continent, with a new
network of organizations in Latin America, and several new projects in
Europe, Africa and Asia. The world is starting to recognize that no
matter what form of criminal justice system is present in a country, all
systems rely on humans beings in the process, and humans make
mistakes. All countries, regardless of the system, rely on confessions,
eyewitnesses, informants with an incentive to lie, and unreliable or
invalidated sciences. The International Wrongful Convictions Day is a
testament to the growing concern over this human problem.”

PUBLISHER'S NOTE:
Dear Reader. Keep your eye on the Charles Smith Blog. We are following this case.
I have added a search box for content in this blog which now encompasses several thousand posts. The search box is located near the bottom of the screen just above the list of links. I am confident that this powerful search tool provided by "Blogger" will help our readers and myself get more out of the site.
The Toronto Star, my previous employer for more than twenty incredible years, has put considerable effort into exposing the harm caused by Dr. Charles Smith and his protectors - and into pushing for reform of Ontario's forensic pediatric pathology system. The Star has a "topic" section which focuses on recent stories related to Dr. Charles Smith. It can be found at:
