STORY: "Teina Pora bail hearing ahead of appeal," published by TVNZ  on March 10, 2014.

GIST: "In four days time, 20 years after he was jailed for the rape and murder of Susan Burdett, Teina Pora could be freed on bail. The Court of Appeal will on Thursday hear a bail application by Pora's lawyers and if successful the 38-year-old could be out of Paremoremo prison. Pora's lawyers were granted an application to appeal his case to the Privy Council in London earlier this year. The Privy Council is expected to hear the appeal in October. Pora was convicted in 1994 and lost an appeal heard in 2000 after DNA from serial rapist Malcolm Rewa was linked to the Susan Burdett case.........Doubts about Pora's guilt have grown steadily and those campaigning to quash his convictions include a private investigator and former police officer, Tim McKinnel and defence lawyer and former Crown Prosecutor, Jonathan Krebs."
