Bulletin: Aisling Brady McCarthy: (Shaken baby syndrome case); Massachusetts: In court today to work out a schedule for review of the medical evidence;

The case of Aisling Brady McCarthy will go before the courts again today.  The Cavan woman is accused of the alleged murder of one year old Rehma Sabir in Boston in January 2013 while she was in her care. 36 year old Aisling Brady McCarthy from Lavey denies the charge.  Earlier this month Ms Brady McCarthy was released on bail for the first time in almost two and a half years. Her trial had been due to start in May but was postponed again to allow the evidence against her to be reviewed by medical expert, Dr Katherine Lindstrom, a medical specialist at the Massachusetts chief medical examiner’s office.  A hearing will take place in Massachussets today at 10.30 am US time where the timetable for the Medical Examiner’s revie will be discussed.  At the last hearing it emerged the trial is not expected to go ahead until at least July 4th.
